Ingredient Philosophy
Rooted Human Naturals was built on a simple belief: personal care should be honest, intentional, and thoughtfully made.
No ingredient is perfect. No crop is impact-free. But choices matter and so does transparency.
This page exists because I believe you deserve to understand not only what is in your products, but why it’s there.
Palm Oil
Palm oil is a traditional soapmaking ingredient that contributes to a firm, long-lasting bar with a creamy lather.
I recognize that palm oil has been associated with deforestation and habitat destruction when sourced irresponsibly and that concern is valid.
For this reason, I use RSPO-certified sustainable palm oil, sourced through reputable suppliers committed to responsible production standards, wildlife protection, and ethical labor practices.
Palm oil is one of the most land-efficient vegetable oils available. Replacing it entirely can sometimes increase land use through alternative crops. Rather than removing it without careful consideration, I have chosen to source it responsibly while continuing to evaluate my formulations.
Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is used in all of my soap bars to create cleansing lather and a stable, bubbly wash.
Like palm oil, coconut farming can have environmental and labor concerns when not managed responsibly.
No single oil exists without impact. My approach is to choose reputable suppliers and formulate with balance and intention.
Essential Oils & Fragrance Oils
Scent is personal. It can be grounding, uplifting, nostalgic, or subtle.
Rooted Human Naturals offers three distinct lines so you can choose what aligns with your preferences:
Bare Naked
No added scent. No colorants. No extras.
Created for those who prefer simplicity or have sensitive skin.
Botanical
Scented only with essential oils and colored naturally with clays or plant-based ingredients.
This line focuses on plant-forward formulation and traditional aromatic blending.
Blended
Created using high-quality fragrance oils or a combination of fragrance and essential oils.
This line allows for broader scent creativity while maintaining thoughtful formulation standards.
All fragrance and essential oils are sourced from reputable suppliers and used within safe, skin-appropriate guidelines and are Paraben and Phthalate Free.
Responsible Sourcing
I choose suppliers based on:
• Transparency
• Established reputation
• Ingredient documentation
• Responsible production practices
Whenever certifications are available and meaningful (such as RSPO for palm oil), I prioritize them.
Sourcing responsibly is not a one-time decision, it is an ongoing commitment.
Evolving & Palm-Free Development
Some customers prefer to avoid palm oil entirely and I respect that choice.
I am currently developing and testing select palm-free formulations designed to maintain bar longevity and lather quality without compromising skin feel.
Palm will not be removed entirely from Rooted Human Naturals, but options will be available for those who wish to avoid it.
Growth for me means listening, learning, improving and not reacting out of fear, but evolving with intention.
